Recap by phillip woo

Flying Keeper settled behind midfield and one off the rails from gate 10, swung the final bend widest out and finished up willingly to get up in the shadows of the post for a second victory from four starts, despite a step back in distance. Punted late, Asmodai went forward from a wide gate to vie for the lead with Fairy Dragon, straightened three deep with a half-length cushion on rivals, opened up by nearly two lengths at the 200m and was paddling late to just hold second. Late-fancied favourite Diamond Angel settled a handy fifth along the fence, cornered in three deep and stayed on reasonably well for a clear-cut third. White Hart King was taken back to last from a wide gate, pushed into the clear with two wider out upon straightening and was doing his best work late to get into a First-4 position. He was suited by a drop in grade. Megabucks sat on the back of the speed in fourth and one off the fence, cornered in four-to-five deep and came up surprisingly one-paced when asked for an effort. He had no excuses. Take The Rap settled fourth from the rear and three deep from a wide alley, shifted off heels into the clear with two wider out at the 200m and made some ground late without menacing.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (251) - BLUE POOL HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1000 Meters On arrival at the Start, it was noted that DIAMOND ANGEL had lost its left front plate.

This plate was refitted.

DIAMOND ANGEL was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.

DIAMOND ANGEL proved difficult to load.

Before being allowed to race again, DIAMOND ANGEL will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.

BELIEVE IN CHANCE began awkwardly.

LIVERPOOL LAD began very awkwardly, shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of FAIRY DRAGON.

From wide barriers, TAKE THE RAP and WHITE HART KING were taken across behind runners shortly after the start.

Approaching the first run near the 600 Metres, WHITE HART KING was awkwardly placed close to the heels of TAKE THE RAP.

BELIEVE IN CHANCE, which was following, was inconvenienced in consequence.

Rounding the Home Turn, LIVERPOOL LAD lay in and became unbalanced after making contact with the running rail.

Throughout the race, CREATIVE UNION travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that FAIRY DRAGON had sustained a cut to the right hind cannon.

DIAMOND ANGEL, FLYING KEEPER and ASMODAI were sent for sampling.
