Recap by phillip woo

Bold Tack, who was given a nice warm-up before the start, pinged out well to hold second one off the stands side from gate 10, went to the front at the 350 and drew clear for the win in a career-best effort. City Of Lights settled up on the speed in third and three off the stands side, worked to second at the 300m and couldn't pull back the margin on the winner in an improved effort with a drop in grade. Early favourite, Invictus settled one off the grandstand side behind midfield, went to third at the 50m and just held the late-punted Brilliant Light for third. Brilliant Light was beaten for speed, ducked to the inside for a clear run in the centre of the course at the 400m and ran on steadily with a drop in grade and move to blinkers. Diamond Agate briefly held third at the 150m and came up one-paced soon after with a move to the blinkers. He appears capable of a big effort at this level. White Hart King made a mild bid without as the late-fancied favourite. Diamond Angel bumped at the start with Fascinating Smile before making some ground. Fascinating Smile is better at the Valley.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (288)-DAISY HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1000 Metres Whilst in the saddling stalls, WHITE HART KING had its right hind plate refitted and FASTALOT had its left front plate refitted.

WHITE HART KING and FASTALOT were examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion they were suitable to race.

FASCINATING SMILE blundered at the start and then became badly unbalanced after being bumped by DIAMOND ANGEL which shifted out.

In this incident, K-MOOCHI, which was drawn outside of FASCINATING SMILE, was inconvenienced in consequence.

WHITE HART KING began awkwardly and shifted out, resulting in INVICTUS being taken out onto DIAMOND AGATE.

Despite being ridden along in the early stages, FAIRY DRAGON failed to muster speed.

Approaching and passing the 400 Metres, DIAMOND ANGEL was held up for clear running.

Approaching the 200 Metres, WHITE HART KING and INVICTUS bumped when racing tight.

Near the 100 Metres, PASSIONATE and CREATIVE UNION bumped due to both horses shifting ground.

Near the 50 Metres, INVICTUS shifted in and bumped WHITE HART KING.

After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that PASSIONATE had bled from both nostrils.

A veterinary inspection of FASTALOT after the race also revealed the horse to have bled from both nostrils.

A veterinary inspection of FASCINATING SMILE and DAILY DOUBLE after the race did not show any significant findings.

WHITE HART KING, BOLD TACK and CITY OF LIGHTS were sent for sampling.
