Recap by phillip woo

Short-priced favourite Good Good View settled one-out, one-back, straightened nearly four deep and eventually worked to the lead 150m out with the rise in trip to open his account after an eye-catching debut last month. Dragon Pins sat outside the leader Supreme Genki, worked to a narrow lead at the 250m and kept on well to hold second. Thanksgiving settled behind midfield and three deep with cover, swung the final bend with one wider out and finished up willingly to get up for a placing in the final 50m. Fresh Air enjoyed the box-seat run, straightened two deep and kept plugging away. Lucky Gains settled midfield and between runners, turned the final corner with two wider out, loomed a place chance at the 150m and run peaked 50m later in a disappointing effort, despite a drop in grade. Supreme Genki led at his own leisure and was giving way over the final 150m in a poor effort. Pillowin settled behind midfield and on the rails, straightened three deep and ran on steadily. He'll be worth keep safe with a drop in grade. Craig's Pride recovered quickly to settle midfield after an awkward break, stuck to the inside upon straightening and was giving way over the final 200m.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four: (363)-SHA LEK HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400 Metres After being loaded, LUCKY GAINS became fractious.

PILLOWIN, which was fractious in the barriers, was slow to begin.

CRAIGS PRIDE was also slow to begin.

From wide barriers, ARCHERS BOW and MOBILE KING were taken across behind runners shortly after the start.

After the 1200 Metres, PLAIN RED BANNER commenced to prove difficult to settle and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of PURE VICTORY for some distance.

Passing the 800 Metres, CRAIGS PRIDE became unbalanced and lost ground after getting its head on the side and shifting out onto PURE VICTORY.

PILLOWIN was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight and after the 300 Metres was shifted to the inside of FRESH AIR to obtain clear running.

Then approaching the 100 Metres, PILLOWIN was awkwardly placed outside the heels of SUPREME GENKI which shifted out under pressure.

SAMMYS FALCON was not able to obtain clear running until passing the 250 Metres.

Throughout the race, GOOD GOOD VIEW travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on LUCKY GAINS at the request of Trainer K L Man.

The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY GAINS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of CRAIGS PRIDE and SUPREME GENKI after the race did not show any significant findings.

GOOD GOOD VIEW and DRAGON PINS were sent for sampling.
