Recap by phillip woo

Heco Rider settled third or fourth along the fence, forced his way between the leading pair rounding the final bend, worked to the lead at the 300m and drew clear for a nice win. Global Fame was at or near the rear after a sluggish break, zipped through along the inside to settle behind midfield passing the 1,000m, straightened one off the fence and ran on nicely for second. Follow The Wind settled worse than midfield and one off the rails, cornered in six deep and was running on steadily late to snare third 50m out. Ambassadorship finished up willingly to just miss a placing. Mark Two was labouring under a big weight. Glacier Blue was travelling a bit keenly early on and came up one-paced over the final 100m. Apollo Cavalier was giving ground over the final 150m. Tom's Eighth only held his ground in the dash to the wire.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (384)-PROSPERITY HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1600Metres

Just prior to the start being effected, PRINCE OF SUNSHINE became fractious and turned its head to the left as the start was then effected and was consequently slow to begin.

Despite being ridden along after this, PRINCE OF SUNSHINE failed to muster speed.

Also just prior to the start being effected, TOMS EIGHTH became fractious and got its head down.

TOMS EIGHTH was consequently slow to begin.

From a wide barrier, GLOBAL FAME was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.

In the early stages, when being steadied to be taken across behind runners from a wide barrier, AMBASSADORSHIP proved very difficult to settle.

When being steadied in the early and middle stages, GLACIER BLUE proved very difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions.

Near the 850 Metres, CLEMENT SPIRIT, which was travelling keenly, was steadied after improving to be racing inside the heels of EMPIRE CITY where there was insufficient room.

Near the 500 Metres, LUFFY became unbalanced after being bumped by HECO RIDER which shifted out to obtain clear running.

A veterinary inspection of APOLLO CAVALIER and TOMS EIGHTH after the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of PRINCE OF SUNSHINE including an endoscopic examination after the race showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, PRINCE OF SUNSHINE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

GLACIER BLUE, HECO RIDER and GLOBAL FAME were sent for sampling.
