Recap by phillip woo

Mr Award settled fifth and one off the rails after jumping well, rallied five wide upon straightening, rushed to the lead at the 120m and held off the late surge of Demon Demon with some late-market action. Demon Demon was snagged back from a wide gate to settle second from the rear and one off the rails, straightened four deep, switched off runners into the clear two off the rails at the 250m and finished up well to make it tight at the finish. He won't be far off a win over this Valley trip. Favourite Jazzy Feeling settled midfield and one off the fence, pushed into the clear with two wider out at the 250m and out-dashed No Ties and China Good to get up in the final 20m for a close third. No Ties settled fourth from the rear and one off the fence, rounded the final bend widest out and finished up nicely. China Good settled behind midfield and on the rails, pushed into the clear five wide outside Mr Award at the 200m and stayed on well to make it close for a minor placing. Well Done was ridden from the start to eventually lead Serendipity for the lead at the 1,000m, cornered a length on top one off the fence, drifting back to the fence at the 150m and was giving way soon after. Firming late, Pure Force was never fully tested when copping a check from Well Done at the 150m.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (419)-TSOI TAK HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Metres

SERENDIPITY shifted in at the start, inconveniencing JAZZY FEELING.

From wide barriers, DEMON DEMON and TOUCH WELL were taken across behind runners shortly after the start.

Shortly after the start, GLORY WIN and NO TIES bumped heavily, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced and NO TIES then shifting out and bumping HAPPY HOMING which also became unbalanced.

After this, GLORY WIN was ridden along to improve its position before being steadied and shifted in to obtain a position behind JAZZY FEELING.

Approaching the 800 Metres, TOUCH WELL got its head up when steadied away from the heels of GLORY WIN which shifted in slightly.

At the 800 Metres, DEMON DEMON got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of NO TIES which itself, when travelling keenly, raced close to the heels of JAZZY FEELING.

In the early part of the Straight, JAZZY FEELING, when being shifted out to obtain clear running, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of HAPPY HOMING which was commencing to give ground.

Near the 250 Metres, JAZZY FEELING shifted out and bumped NOVEL START.

Passing the 200 Metres, HAPPY HOMING, which was continuing to give ground, was eased away from the heels of CHINA GOOD which shifted out to obtain clear running.

Also passing the 200 Metres, GLORY WIN was steadied when disappointed for running between PURE FORCE and DEMON DEMON (Z Purton) which shifted to the inside of SERENDIPITY to obtain clear running.

Z Purton was advised to exercise more care.

Passing the 200 Metres, PURE FORCE was steadied away from the heels of WELL DONE (C Y Ho) which shifted in.

C Y Ho was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in future.

After this, PURE FORCE was held up for some distance when awkwardly placed close to the heels of WELL DONE.

Near the 150 Metres, NOVEL START and NO TIES raced tight due to both horses shifting ground.

Passing the 100 Metres, NO TIES got its head on the side, hung in and proved difficult to ride over the concluding stages.

Throughout the race, HAPPY HOMING travelled wide and without cover.

A veterinary inspection of GLORY WIN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

JAZZY FEELING, MR AWARD and DEMON DEMON were sent for sampling.
