Recap by phillip woo

Early favourite Simple settled third from the rear and one off the rails, pushed into the clear five deep soon after straightening and quickened willingly to swamp them in the final 20m for the win. Bundle Of Love led or shared the lead outside Good Boy Boy, drew away by a length at the 100m and found one too good in the end with money coming on late. London China Town settled in the one-out, one-back position, cornered in four deep and stayed on well to secure a placing. Late-fancied favourite Horse Galore was gifted the box-seat run, came two off upon straightening and kept on one-paced. Good Boy Boy showed his usual speed to share the lead along the fence and grudgingly gave way over the final 100m. Charity Spirit settled fifth and one off the rails, peeled six deep at the 250m and made only a mild bid without ever looking a threat. Plunged late in betting, Gift Is Gift made his run behind midfield and one off the rails after a sluggish start, swung the final bend widest out and only kept on past beaten rivals. Regency Luck had trouble staying in touch near the back and was never a factor.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (495)-CHOI HUNG HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1000Metres

After being loaded, EXPRESS HORSE became very fractious and as the start was effected began awkwardly and bumped GIFT IS GIFT which resulted in both horses becoming unbalanced and EXPRESS HORSE losing ground.

Before being allowed to race again, EXPRESS HORSE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.

LONDON CHINA TOWN began awkwardly.

From a wide barrier, SIMPLE was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.

At the 600 Metres, WINDICATOR POWER brushed the running rail.

Near the 50 Metres, HORSE GALORE was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of BUNDLE OF LOVE.

For the majority of the race, TOUCH GO travelled wide and without cover.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of REGENCY LUCK, A Suborics stated that his mount began fairly and he immediately rode the horse along to obtain as forward a position as possible.

He said passing the 900 Metres REGENCY LUCK became unbalanced in its action and failed to maintain its position inside WINDICATOR POWER despite being ridden along.

He said he continued to ride the horse along, however, REGENCY LUCK did not stretch out and he considered, near the 600 Metres, easing the horse out of the race as he had concerns with the manner in which it was racing.

He said as REGENCY LUCK made up good ground over the concluding stages at its most recent start when ridden by another jockey, he continued to ride REGENCY LUCK along, however, the horse got its head up, did not respond to his riding at any stage and did not travel well throughout the race.

A veterinary inspection of REGENCY LUCK immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of REGENCY LUCK was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, REGENCY LUCK will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of TOUCH GO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

HORSE GALORE, SIMPLE and BUNDLE OF LOVE were sent for sampling.
