Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Highest Acclaim took full advantage of the gate to settle in the box-seat position, came one off upon straightening and took control passing the 200m for a second win over this course-and-distance this term. Jazzy Feeling eventually settled third along the rails after a sluggish break, straightened five deep without a clear run, switched to a position two off the rails at the 200m and ran on nicely to come home a clear second. He's overdue for a win. Hong Kong Dancer was handy along the fence in fifth, shuffled back to midfield at the midway point, stayed to the inside upon straightening and kept coming to secure third in deep stretch. He's improving with racing. Red Lucky Star settled better than midfield and one off the rails, rallied five wide at the 300m, loomed at least a place chance at the 100m and kept on evenly over the final 50m. Silver Dragon was posted without cover behind midfield, turned the final bend with two wider out and made some progress late without menacing. Ocean Wide was hard ridden to clear for the lead from a wide gate passing the 800m, came into the straight just over a length on top and was giving way passing the 150m. Bullish Boy settled second in the run without cover, straightened four deep and was struggling passing the 200m.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (537)-JARDINE HANDICAP (Sec1) - Class 4 - 1200Metres

ALL TIMES LUCKY was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.

From a wide barrier, JAZZY FEELING was shifted across behind runners to a position closer to the rail.

FANTASTICO and PROSPEROUS WIN bumped at the start.

A short distance later, FANTASTICO was crowded for room between PROSPEROUS WIN and BULLISH BOY which shifted out.

Approaching the 1000 Metres, FANTASTICO was severely checked and blundered when crowded for room between BULLISH BOY which shifted out and RED LUCKY STAR (B Prebble) which shifted in.

B Prebble was severely reprimanded and advised that whilst there was a significant contribution from BULLISH BOY which was directed out by its rider to prevent causing crowding to its inside, nonetheless he had allowed his mount to shift in too far before attempting to straighten it.

He was also advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances.

When FANTASTICO was checked, the horse shifted out abruptly, resulting in SILVER DRAGON being taken very wide.

Passing the 900 Metres, HONG KONG DANCER raced tight inside HIGHEST ACCLAIM which was taken in by BULLISH BOY which got its head on the side and shifted in.

After the 600 Metres, JAZZY FEELING became unbalanced when racing tight inside ALL TIMES LUCKY which in turn was awkwardly placed inside the heels of CHINA GOOD.

Then near the 500 Metres, JAZZY FEELING was again crowded for room when continuing to race in restricted room inside ALL TIMES LUCKY which at this time got its head on the side and shifted in away from CHINA GOOD.

Approaching the 300 Metres, JAZZING FEELING shifted to the inside of RED LUCKY STAR to continue improving.

Throughout the race, VICTORY GENERAL travelled wide and without cover.

C Y Ho (PROSPEROUS WIN) was spoken to regarding using the whip on a horse out of contention.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of BULLISH BOY, M Chadwick stated that he had to make some use of the horse in the early stages to obtain a forward position as instructed.

He said BULLISH BOY raced in a three wide position until approaching the 800 Metres at which time he was able to obtain a position one horse off the rail.

He said the horse came under pressure passing the 400 Metres to maintain its position and then in the Straight, despite being ridden out, was disappointing in the manner in which it weakened.

He added, in his opinion, BULLISH BOY did not handle the track conditions tonight.

A veterinary inspection of BULLISH BOY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

HIGHEST ACCLAIM and JAZZY FEELING were sent for sampling.
