Recap by phillip woo

Starlit Warrior was posted deep near the speed until easing back into a position one off the rails in fourth, straightened five deep, hit the front 150m out and kept on nicely to score a maiden win at his 19th start and first run for the Derek Cruz yard. He'll certainly remain in the grade following this success and can pick up another. Danesouth settled worse than midfield and one of the rails, rallied four deep upon straightening and was finding the line well to come up a clear second. Supreme Tycoon went forward out deep to eventually clear to the lead passing the winning post for the first time, cornered level for the lead with Sabina and kept up a good gallop to come home with a minor placing with late-market action. Dark Secret bided his time second from the rear and along the rails, stayed to the inside upon straightening and ran on willingly to fill the frame in fourth. Humongus made his run third from the rear and one off the rails, swung the final bend with two wider out and ran on steadily late without menacing. Firming favourite Mr Marfach settled fourth from the rear and near the rails, cornered three deep, bumped Humongus while pulling out sharply with three wider out at the 250m and made some progress late without menacing.

MR MARFACH was slow to begin.

DARK SECRET began awkwardly and shortly after the start was bumped by STARLIT WARRIOR which shifted out.

From a wide barrier, GLORY OF INDIA was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.

Passing the winning post on the first occasion, DANESOUTH momentarily raced tight inside KINGSTON ELITE which shifted in.

Shortly after this incident, KINGSTON ELITE was left racing wide and without cover.

Passing the 600 Metres, STARLIT WARRIOR got its head on the side and shifted in towards the heels of FOLLOW THE MONEY.

Approaching the 400 Metres, MR MARFACH was checked to avoid the heels of YOUNG HERO which was awkwardly placed close to the heels of FOLLOW THE MONEY.

When MR MARFACH was checked, it shifted out, resulting in HUMONGUS being crowded for room inside CHINA DELIGHT.

YOUNG HERO was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight.

Approaching the 200 Metres, CHINA DELIGHT, which was giving ground, was crowded for room between GLORY OF INDIA and HUMONGUS which was taken out by MR MARFACH (G Mossé) which shifted out after having difficulty obtaining clear running.

G Mossé was advised to exercise care.

Also approaching the 200 Metres, SABINA shifted in and bumped SUPREME TYCOON.

After the 200 Metres, DARK SECRET was shifted in away from the heels of SUPREME TYCOON to obtain clear running.

Near the 100 Metres, MR MARFACH was awkwardly placed inside the heels of HUMONGUS which got its head on the side and shifted in under pressure.

After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that DANESOUTH had lost its left front plate.

A veterinary inspection of GLORY OF INDIA and KINGSTON ELITE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

MR MARFACH, STARLIT WARRIOR and DANESOUTH were sent for sampling.
