Recap by phillip woo

Odds-on favourite, California Bounty led one off the stands side until Arrived Ahead drew level at the 600m, turned it up a gear to open up a length at the 400m and out-dueled Windicator Star in a ding-dong finish over the final 100m, despite that one tending to bump him a number of times. Windicator Star quickly tacked on at the rear about three lengths off the leaders on the stand side after a sluggish break, worked into the picture at the 200m and couldn't overhaul California Bounty over the final 100m. Vital Flyer travelled third on the far side and kept plugging away to just hold newcomer Lucky Double Eight for third. The latter travelled fourth and two off the stands side and kept up a steady gallop late. Arrived Ahead rolled forward from gate one to settle second in the run and three off the outside fence, but found little over the final 200m. Flying Colours travelled second from the rear and one off the outside rails, but found little to continue his dismal run of form this term.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (719)-THE PRINCE JEWELLERY & WATCH PREMIER CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 1 - 1000Metres

Passing the 200 Metres, VITAL FLYER got its head on the side and shifted out under pressure.

Near the 150 Metres, CALIFORNIA BOUNTY and WINDICATOR STAR bumped as a result of both horses shifting ground.

Over the final 100 Metres, WINDICATOR STAR shifted in under pressure and in doing so made contact with CALIFORNIA BOUNTY on a number of occasions, resulting in that horse becoming unbalanced when taken in.

For the majority of the race, CALIFORNIA BOUNTY raced with its head on the side and lay in.

CALIFORNIA BOUNTY and WINDICATOR STAR were sent for sampling.
