Recap by phillip woo

Plunged late, Golden Bauhinia showed rare gate speed to settle in the box-seat from gate two, darted to the front approaching the 200m and edged clear for a nice win off a dangerous mark. Speedygonzalez travelled third from the rear and along the rails after a slow break, stayed to the inside upon straightening and finished up nicely to get up for second 100m out. Favourite Red Lucky Star was urged along to hold the rails three back, came one off upon straightening and made some ground for a placing. Po Ching King went forward to lead from a middle gate, straightened narrowly on top and grudgingly gave way over the last 100m. China Good was switched off at the tail, straightened one off the rails and made a steady bid late under a left whip. True Courage was hard ridden from an awkward gate to park without cover in second or third, straightened with one wider out and was one-paced over the final 150m. D Day Super made his run one off and second from the rear, turned the final bend with three wider out and only got passed beaten rivals. Specked late, All Times Lucky made his run in midfield and between runners, straightened four deep and only kept battling away at the same pace.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (013)-MIDDLE BAY HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Metres

CHINA GOOD began awkwardly.

Passing the 600 Metres, SPEEDYGONZALEZ was awkwardly placed close to the heels of RED LUCKY STAR.

Near the 550 Metres, ALL TIMES LUCKY momentarily raced tight inside GREAT ALEXANDER which was taken in marginally by TRUE COURAGE which travelled wide and without cover throughout the race.

After the 200 Metres, SPEEDYGONZALEZ momentarily raced in restricted room inside RED LUCKY STAR (O Doleuze) which shifted in under pressure.

In this incident, O Doleuze briefly lost the use of his left rein.

Near the 150 Metres, JOYFUL LUCK, which in the early part of the Straight got its head on the side and hung in, raced tight between RED COURAGE and D DAY SUPER which shifted out away from the heels of GREAT ALEXANDER which was giving ground.

A veterinary inspection of RED COURAGE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.

A veterinary inspection of GREAT ALEXANDER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

RED LUCKY STAR, GOLDEN BAUHINIA and SPEEDYGONZALEZ were sent for sampling.
