Recap by phillip woo

Star Of Wai Bo enjoyed the box-seat run, stayed to the rails upon straightening and took control 60m out to erase his maiden status with money pouring into him late. Favourite Brave Brother travelled three out and one off the rails, swung the final bend with one wider out and finished off well to grab Ambitious Glory 50m out for second. He's been costly but does appear one that will be winning soon. Ambitious Glory rolled to the front as expected from gate seven, set a moderate pace while turning nearly a length on top and grudgingly gave way over the final 100m. King Derby was able to get into a position worse than midfield and one off the rails from a wide gate, rounded the final bend widest out and was eating up the ground late to just miss a placing. It was an encouraging run on the back of an unsuitable pace and he won't be far off a winning run. Double Master travelled in the one-out, one-back position, cornered in four deep and kept plugging on to just snag a minor pay cheque. Heartland settled fourth from the rear and one off the rails, shifted into the clear five deep at the 300m and made some ground late without menacing. Great straightened four deep with every chance and was only holding his ground over the final 150m.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (030)-ISLAND HANDICAP (Sec1) - Class 4 - 1200Metres

EASY SUCCESS had its tongue tie refitted behind the barriers.

HEARTLAND began very awkwardly, shifted out and made heavy contact with GREAT ALEXANDER which in turn shifted out and bumped EASY SUCCESS which at this time was being steadied with a view to being shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier.

After this, HEARTLAND was taken across behind runners to a position closer to the rail.

SUPER TIGER and NAZAKAT'S LAD were crowded for room at the start between NATURAL CHAMPION and STAR OF WAI BO, both of which shifted ground.

EASY SUCCESS lost its right hind plate passing the 1000 Metres.

At the 900 Metres, AMBITIOUS GLORY shifted out and bumped GREAT ALEXANDER, causing both horses to become unbalanced.

For some distance approaching and passing the 900 Metres, DOUBLE MASTER over-raced and passing the 800 Metres was checked away from the heels of GREAT ALEXANDER.

BRAVE BROTHER, which was following, was hampered in consequence.

After this, DOUBLE MASTER continued to prove difficult to settle and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GREAT ALEXANDER.

Near the 650 Metres, EASY SUCCESS got its head up on a number of occasions when proving difficult to settle and awkwardly placed close to the heels of HEARTLAND.

In the early part of the Straight, DOUBLE MASTER got its head on the side and hung in under pressure.

DOUBLE MASTER continued to hang in and after the 200 Metres proved reluctant to shift to the outside of GREAT ALEXANDER.

A veterinary inspection of NAZAKAT'S LAD and SUPER TIGER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

STAR OF WAI BO and BRAVE BROTHER were sent for sampling.
