Recap by phillip woo

Dehere's The Love settled midfield and two off the rails with cover, swung the final bend with a couple wider out, responded nicely to hit the front and let down nicely to take control passing the 200m for a convincing victory. Ambitious Glory stalked the leader Forza one off the rails, worked to the front 300m out and found one too smart on the day. Hurry Hurry Up was posted without cover near the speed, swung the final bend five deep and wore down Forza in the final 100m for a placing. Firming late, Forza led along the rails, straightened narrowly on top and was giving way 150m out. Expedite eventually slotted in with cover two off the rails behind midfield from a wide gate, swung the final bend widest out and ran on steadily late. Favourite Multiexpress travelled a handy fifth and one off the rails, straightened two deep and failed to lift under a left whip with a switch to the dirt. Supreme Hong Kong bided his time second from the rear, swung the final bend with one wider out and only kept on passed beaten rivals. Palepale enjoyed the box-seat run, stayed to the inside upon straightening and was finding very little when popped the question. Sparking Sword was detached from the field and never a factor.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six: (132)-HADATUKO HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Metres

Shortly after the start, SPARKLING SWORD, which was being steadied with the intent of being taken across behind runners, was bumped by JOYFUL LUCK which shifted out.

Despite being vigorously ridden along in the early stages, SUPREME HONG KONG failed to muster speed.

For some distance approaching and passing the 800 Metres, SUPREME HONG KONG proved very difficult to settle and making the turn near the 700 Metres got its head on the side and shifted out towards the heels of EXPEDITE.

Passing the 100 Metres, MULTIEXPRESS was shifted to the outside of HURRY HURRY UP when disappointed for running between that horse and FORZA which shifted out.

In the Straight, TIME WINNER got its head on the side and lay in under pressure.

Throughout the race, HURRY HURRY UP travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on SUPREME HONG KONG at the request of Trainer A T Millard.

The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, SUPREME HONG KONG will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of MULTIEXPRESS, TIME WINNER and PALEPALE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of SPARKLING SWORD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of SPARKLING SWORD, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, SPARKLING SWORD will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
