Recap by phillip woo

Punted late, Ho In One settled fourth from the rear and two off the rails with cover, swung the final bend with one wider and quickened nicely, despite drifting in, to take control 120m out and complete a big day for runners drawn wide and covering ground. Jun Gong settled three back along the rails, weaved a run near the inside to find the front 200m out and found one too good in the end. Favourite Supreme Falcon settled around midfield and one off the rails, straightened four deep and got up 50m out for a placing. Nice Folks travelled third from the rear and two off the rails, was strung up five deep upon straightening and got going with clear running passing the 200m. Sichuan Vigour settled in the box-seat, popped out three deep rounding the final bend, nearly drew level at the 200m and could go on with things 100m out. He didn't see out the 1,400m. Lombardi straightened a length on top and was giving way 150m out. Owners' Pride swung the final bend with two wider out and wasn't too far off the finish, despite getting squeezed out at the 250m in his initial run with blinkers.

Racing Incident Report

Race Ten: (155)-PANASONIC LAMDASH SHAVER HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Metres

From wide barriers, HEAVENISARACEHORSE, GALLANT TRIUMPH and HO IN ONE were all taken across behind runners shortly after the start.

After the 900 Metres, OWNERS' PRIDE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of HARBOUR DELIGHT which was left racing wide and without cover.

After the 500 Metres, JOLLY FINE was steadied after attempting to improve between SUPREME FALCON and HARBOUR DELIGHT where there was insufficient room.

After this, JOLLY FINE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of HARBOUR DELIGHT.

HARBOUR DELIGHT got its head on the side and lay out rounding the Home Turn.

FLYING IBIS was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight.

At the 400 Metres, JUN GONG was shifted in away from the heels of GREEN ZONE to obtain clear running.

K Teetan (SUPREME FALCON) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 250 Metres he permitted his mount to shift out when not clear of MASSIVE IMPACT, causing that horse to be checked and to lose the running to which it was rightfully entitled.

K Teetan was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday, 16 December 2013 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays).

This suspension shall commence on Thursday, 5 December 2013 on which day Jockey Teetan was due to resume race riding from a suspension incurred at the Happy Valley racemeeting last Wednesday, 6 November 2013.

NICE FOLKS was unable to obtain clear running until near the 200 Metres.

At the 100 Metres, OWNERS' PRIDE was bumped by NICE FOLKS which shifted to the outside of SUPREME FALCON into clear running.

Then over the concluding stages, OWNERS' PRIDE was awkwardly placed outside the heels of NICE FOLKS.

Over the concluding stages, FLYING IBIS was awkwardly placed inside the heels of SICHUAN VIGOUR.

Because of this, FLYING IBIS was not able to be ridden out to the finishing line.

SUPREME FALCON, HO IN ONE and JUN GONG were sent for sampling.

6 November 2013 Happy Valley Racemeeting Race 5 (142) N Callan (BETTER ANNOUNCE) was fined a sum of $2,000 for raising his whip arm above shoulder height.Race 8 (145)The Stewards questioned Mr A S Cruz, the trainer of REGENCY CHAMPION, which was successful in this race regarding what appeared to be a disparity in the manner in which the horse was ridden in the early stages of the race as compared to the manner in which it was ridden in its previous races this season and in particular its first up run on 15 September 2013.

On that occasion, Mr Cruz was interviewed by the Stewards regarding his instructions provided to Jockey M Chadwick who rode the horse.

He said at that time he instructed Jockey Chadwick to lead if possible on REGENCY CHAMPION but not to ride it along to do so.

He said he was concerned that if the horse did not show early speed to clear runners to its inside that it would be left racing very wide and accordingly would not be able to close off the race if too much use of the horse were to be made of it in the early stages.

He added in this race he felt that the only speed was NORDIC ONE and that REGENCY CHAMPION would be able to cross runners to its inside from barrier 9 without too much use having to be made of the horse.

He said he felt the circumstances of this race were different to its first up run this season.

Mr Cruz was advised that the disparity in the manner in which REGENCY CHAMPION was ridden, particularly in these two races, was of concern to the Stewards and he must ensure that, wherever circumstances permit, horses are ridden in a consistent manner.
