Recap by phillip woo

Firming late to jump favourite, Santa Fe Sun settled midfield and one off the rails, was in a bumping match with You Know I Win while swinging the final bend with one wider out and let down nicely to take control 60m out for a maiden win at his eighth start with a step up in distance with a tongue-tie applied. How Speedy settled behind midfield and on the rails, quickened nicely to hit the front four deep at the 150m and found one too good in the end in a pleasing return to the races. Demon Demon travelled along the rails in fourth, shifted out for clear running three deep at the 400m, found the front 200m out and couldn't match the finishing burst of the top pair over a longer trip this time around.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (168)-SHA TIN HEIGHTS HANDICAP (Sec2) - Class 4 - 1400Metres

As the start was effected, TERRIFIC MASTER, which was having its first race start today, lifted its front feet off the ground and consequently lost ground.

Before being allowed to race again, TERRIFIC MASTER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.

GOOD YIELD was slow to begin.

ENJOY THE GAME began awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, JUN HAO was crowded for room between GOLDLAND DANCER and T-BOLT which shifted out.

After this, JUN HAO was taken across behind runners.

Passing the 1100 Metres, M Chadwick (TERRIFIC MASTER) was struck in the face by a clod.

After the race, M Chadwick was examined by the medical officer who said, in his opinion, he was fit to fulfil his remaining race riding engagements.

Passing the 500 Metres, T-BOLT was awkwardly placed outside the heels of DEMON DEMON which shifted out to improve.

Rounding the Home Turn, SANTA FE SUN and YOU KNOW I WIN raced tight as SANTA FE SUN shifted to the outside of SILVER DRAGON into clear running.

T-BOLT had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight and passing the 300 Metres was steadied away from the heels of SPURS ON when unable to obtain clear running behind that horse.

Passing the 50 Metres, JUN HAO was shifted out away from the heels of YOU KNOW I WIN.

In the Straight, TERRIFIC MASTER raced greenly and shifted ground on a number of occasions.

Throughout the race, SOLAR SPIRIT travelled wide and without cover.

The performance of GOOD YIELD, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, GOOD YIELD will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of GOLDLAND DANCER and SOLAR SPIRIT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

SANTA FE SUN and HOW SPEEDY were sent for sampling.
