Recap by phillip woo

Khaya settled behind midfield and one off the rails, shifted into clear running at the 300m, swept to the front 60m out and kept on gamely for a nice victory with a return to racing. He'll remain competitive off a light weight in the next grade. Favourite Kissmet was allowed to find his feet fifth from the rear and one off the rails, was strung up in traffic early straight, worked into clear running six deep at the 250m and finished up willingly to make it close at the wire. Thanksgiving settled fifth and one off the rails, worked to the front five deep at the 150m and was no match for the top pair. Geronimo Meadow was switched off second from the rear and two off the rails with cover from a wide gate, swung the final bend with one wider out and was doing some nice work late. He only needs to draw a proper gate to be winning at this level over 1,400m or a mile at either course. Dashing Super drove through along the rails to lead at the 1,400m, cornered a half-length on top and gave way inside the 150m. Specked late, All My Benefit joyed the box-seat run, came one off upon straightening and was rather one-paced in the drive to the wire. Winnam was posted three deep with cover behind midfield, swung the final bend with three wider out and was running on empty 200m out.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six: (169)-TATE'S CAIRN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1600Metres

When being loaded into the barriers, WINNING ADVANTAGE pulled back, resulting in the horse's bridle becoming loose.

After the bridle was refitted and when being reloaded into the barriers, WINNING ADVANTAGE cast its left front plate, resulting in it having to be replated.

After being replated, WINNING ADVANTAGE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said, in his opinion, it was suitable to race.

This resulted in a delay to the starting time of this race.

GREAT STORIES and DASHING SUPER bumped heavily at the start, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced and GREAT STORIES losing ground.

SOLDIER began awkwardly and then after initially being ridden along was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.

OXFORD CHARLEY and WINNING ADVANTAGE were taken across behind runners shortly after the start.

After the 1200 Metres, THANKSGIVING was left racing wide and without cover.

Passing the 800 Metres, GERONIMO MEADOW commenced to travel keenly and shifted out away from the heels of SOLDIER after being awkwardly placed behind that horse.

GLOBAL FAME was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight until passing the 300 Metres.

Over the final 200 Metres and in particular over the concluding stages, KISSMET shifted out under pressure.

Approaching the 150 Metres, Z Purton (KISSMET) dropped his whip.

Neat the 100 Metres, ALL MY BENEFIT (K C Leung) shifted out and hampered BLOSSOM DAILY, resulting in K C Leung having to stop riding and correct his mount.

A veterinary inspection of SOLDIER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

KHAYA and KISSMET were sent for sampling.
