Recap by phillip woo

Charles The Great jumped alertly to settled fifth and one off the rails, angled off a tiring Amber Sky three deep at the 200m, swept to the front four deep at the 120m and held off stablemate Sterling City for the win. Early favourite Sterling City made his run worse than midfield and one off the fence, swung the final bend with three wider out and was hitting the line with purpose. Specked late, Eagle Regiment travelled nicely in midfield along the rails from a good gate, stayed near the inside upon straightening and ran down Cerise Cherry close to home for a placing, despite a step up in trip. Cerise Cherry was up with the leaders' third and one off the rails, shifted four-to-five deep at the 350m, worked to third inside the 100m and was nipped late for placing. El Zonda made his run behind midfield and one off the rails, rallied five deep upon straightening and ran on reasonably well. Hammered late to jump favourite, Amber Sky didn't handle the bends all that well while rolling to the front, came to the final bend near two lengths clear and was giving way 100m out. Frederick Engels was restrained back to last after jumping swiftly from the widest gate, taken back to last after jumping swiftly, swung the final bend with one wider out and was doing some nice work late.

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine: (172)-THE BOCHK WEALTH MANAGEMENT JOCKEY CLUB SPRINT - Group Two - 1200Metres

BULLISH FRIEND began awkwardly.

TIME AFTER TIME began only fairly.

When being taken across behind runners in the early stages from the outside barrier, FREDERICK ENGELS proved very difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions for a considerable distance.

Making the first turn after the 900 Metres, EAGLE REGIMENT got its head on the side and hung out and passing the 800 Metres got its head up and shifted out towards the heels of CHARLES THE GREAT.

Also making the first turn after the 900 Metres, AMBER SKY got its head on the side and shifted out.

AMBER SKY continued to lay out making the turns.

Passing the 600 Metres, EAGLE REGIMENT again got its head up when proving difficult to settle and awkwardly placed close to the heels of CHARLES THE GREAT.

Near the 150 Metres, TIME AFTER TIME was steadied away from the heels of EAGLE REGIMENT which got its head on the side and hung out under pressure.

Near the 100 Metres, EL ZONDA was inconvenienced by EAGLE REGIMENT which continued to shift out.

Over the final 100 Metres, CERISE CHERRY hung in under pressure and proved difficult to ride.

After the race, K C Leung (CAPTAIN SWEET) reported that his saddle shifted back in the early stages of the race.

A veterinary inspection of AMBER SKY immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, AMBER SKY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

AMBER SKY, CHARLES THE GREAT and STERLING CITY were sent for sampling.
