Recap by phillip woo
Favourite Sterling City settled a distant fourth and one off the rails, swept to the front three deep at the 200m and kept on gamely for a second win from four starts this term. Destined For Glory bided his time worse than midfield along the rails, rounded the final bend three-to-four deep and finished nicely to inject value into the Quinella 60m out. All You Wish travelled second from the rear along the fence, came one off upon straightening and closed off well to edge out Charles The Great for a placing. Charles The Great settled third from the rear and one off the fence, angled his way into the open at the 300m, worked to third 80m out and held his ground thereafter. Helene Spirit enjoyed a nice time on the lead, led mid-race by nearly three lengths, entered the straight a length on top and came up flat in the final 100m off a big weight. Specked late, Rainbow Chic made his run in midfield and one off the rails, rounded the final bend with one further out, briefly loomed place chance at the 250m and found little 150m out. He may be better suited at the Valley. Flash Knight settled at the tail and never got into the act in his first try at Group level.
