Recap by phillip woo

Calling With Love settled midfield and three deep without cover from a wide gate, swung the final bend with three further out and finished up willingly to take control 60m out for the win with a drop in class. Early favourite Happy Champion settled behind midfield and one off the rails, rounded the final bend with one wider out and ran on strongly to take second. Capital K bided his time third from the rear and one off the fence, pushed widest out upon straightening and quickened nicely to get up close to home for a placing. Make It travelled a prominent fourth and one off the fence, worked to the front five deep at the 200m and was swamped late while just holding off three others for a First-4 spot. Well-punted late, Supreme Flight settled in the box-seat behind the leading pair of What A Heart and Croesus, stayed to the fence upon straightening and was gunned down for a placing 50m out. He's better suited over the 1,400m. Peaceful Mission was allowed to find his feet at the tail of the field from the widest gate, swung the final bend with two deeper out and ran on nicely in his first run in nine months. Kick Serve bided his time fourth from the rear, peeled five deep upon straightening and was doing some good work late. Late-fancied favourite Croesus was caught in a duel for the lead without cover, briefly found the front at the 250m and was stopping 100m out.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (309)-GREAT GEORGE HANDICAP - Class 4 (Special Conditions) - 1200Metres

KYNAM was withdrawn on 6.1.14 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (tied-up after track work) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter WHAT A HEART (C K Tong).

Before being allowed to race again, KYNAM will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

From wide barriers, LET'S GOAL and PEACEFUL MISSION were taken across behind runners shortly after the start.

After travelling for a short distance, CAPITAL K, which was being ridden along, was steadied and KICK SERVE checked when crowded for room between KIDS AND WIN and HAPPY CHAMPION which got its head on the side and shifted out away from FANTASY JEWELLERY which shifted out after brushing SUPREME FLIGHT.

CROESUS, which travelled wide and without cover until near the 700 Metres, became unbalanced after bumping SUPREME FLIGHT which was awkwardly placed outside the heels of WHAT A HEART which got its head on the side and lay out approaching the 800 Metres.

CALLING WITH LOVE was left racing wide and without cover near the 700 Metres.

FANTASY JEWELLERY made the Home Turn awkwardly.

At the 50 Metres, CROESUS and KICK SERVE bumped.

Over the concluding stages, CROESUS was steadied when crowded for room between KIDS AND WIN and KICK SERVE which shifted in.

A veterinary inspection of CROESUS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
