Recap by phillip woo

Hello Kimberley was hard ridden from gate 12 to settle second outside the leader O'Halo, responded well to lead at the 250m and drew clear for an impressive win with the addition of blinkers and a riding change to the Magic Man Joao Moreira. Favourite O'Halo led for fun after jumping alertly, cornered a half-length on top and found one better on the day with a drop in grade and return to his preferred dirt surface. Goldweaver made his run in midfield and one off the rails, rounded the final bend with two wider out and let down nicely to get up for a placing. Take The Rap wasn't able to find cover three deep outside Daily Double travelling in fifth, rounded the final bend four deep and kept on reasonably well to just scrape home fourth best. Daily Double made his run effectively one-out, one-back, straightened three deep and plugged on without menacing with every chance. Enjoy The Fun was caught deep on the course without cover in midfield, turned the final bend with one wider out and kept on evenly. Diamond Angel settled in the box-seat, stuck to the rails upon straightening and was flat when popped the question as the second favourite. High Return appeared to break down close to home. Bear Supreme and Viva Dolphin never got going from the back.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (315)-HUNG SHUI KIU HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Metres

TIPPERARY DAVOR was slow to begin.

From a wide barrier, VIVA DOLPHIN was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.

Despite being ridden along in the early stages, GOLDWEAVER was slow to muster speed.

Near the 800 Metres, DAILY DOUBLE momentarily raced in restricted room between DIAMOND ANGEL and TAKE THE RAP which shifted in before being directed out to relieve the tightening.

Approaching the 600 Metres, TIPPERARY DAVOR was awkwardly placed close to the heels of HIGH RETURN.

Approaching the winning post, HIGH RETURN broke down.

TIPPERARY DAVOR, which was following, was hampered in consequence.

For the majority of the race, TAKE THE RAP and ENJOY THE FUN travelled wide and without cover.

When questioned, B Prebble stated that he was not able to offer any explanation for DIAMOND ANGEL's disappointing performance.

He said after having to be ridden along in the early stages, DIAMOND ANGEL was able to take up a forward position behind the leader O'HALO.

He said DIAMOND ANGEL travelled well before coming under pressure rounding the Home Turn.

He added DIAMOND ANGEL did not quicken thereafter and finished off the race only one-paced.

A veterinary inspection of DIAMOND ANGEL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

HELLO KIMBERLEY and O'HALO were sent for sampling.
