Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Win It was nicely rated on the front, cornered a length on top and drew clear for a convincing first victory at his 13 start with the cheek pieces back on. Plunged late, Danesouth settled three back and one off the rails between runners, swung the final bend five-to-six deep, worked to second 60m out and then held off Bamboo Dance, who travelled deep with cover behind midfield and was finishing up reasonably well three from the outside. Public Figure never found cover from a wide alley near the speed, moved to second three deep at the 300m and grudgingly gave way thereafter. Street Cat was taken back from a wide gate to settle second from the rear along the fence, angled into the clear six deep at the 300m, had duck underneath Danesouth at the 100m and ran on well thereafter. He'll have to be kept safe when drawing a proper alley. Fiery Patrol swung the final bend outside Public Figure, moved to second at the 200m and was one-paced over the last 100m. Global Fame made some ground in his first run for trainer Richard Gibson.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (435)-GUIA HILL HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1600Metres

FIERY PATROL began awkwardly and bumped SHANTARAAM.

BURGUNDY MAC was slow to begin.

From wide barriers, SMART GUY and STREET CAT were taken across behind runners shortly after the start.

Near the 1100 Metres, SHANTARAAM shifted in, resulting in HAPPY KAISER being momentarily crowded for room.

When SHANTARAAM was shifted out to relieve the tightening to HAPPY KAISER, PUBLIC FIGURE, which was racing to the outside of SHANTARAAM, was hampered.

Near the 1000 Metres, CASA JUNIOR proved very difficult to settle and got its head up when being checked away from the heels of LOVELY PANDA which was awkwardly placed close to the heels of DANESOUTH.

Also near the 1000 Metres, PUBLIC FIGURE was left racing wide and without cover.

Making the turn near the 900 Metres, SMART GUY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CASA JUNIOR.

Near the 700 Metres, CASA JUNIOR was checked away from the heels of LOVELY PANDA.

Near the 300 Metres, BURGUNDY MAC was shifted out away from the heels of DANESOUTH when racing tight for some distance between that horse and GLOBAL FAME which shifted out after being held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight.

Near the 150 Metres, STREET CAT was steadied away from the heels of DANESOUTH.

A short distance later, STREET CAT (T H So) shifted in and bumped BURGUNDY MAC, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced and BURGUNDY MAC shifting in and racing tight outside GLOBAL FAME.

T H So was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.

Over the concluding stages, STREET CAT and FIERY PATROL raced tight.

Because of this, both STREET CAT and FIERY PATROL were not able to be fully tested right to the end of the race.

After the race, SHANTARAAM was found to have a bleeding quarter crack to the right front foot.

WIN IT and DANESOUTH were sent for sampling.
