Recap by phillip woo

Firming favourite Gold-Fun was posted three deep with cover in midfield, swung the final bend with two wider out and took control 150m out for a fourth Group win this season. Dan Excel was posted without cover in third, worked to the front four deep at the 200m and again found one too good in the end for a third Group One runner-up performance from his past four starts. Charles The Great was quietly ridden third from the rear three deep with cover, peeled into the clear with one wider out upon straightening and finished well to grab a placing 50m out. Frederick Engels travelled second from the back, stayed to the inside upon straightening and collared Lucky Nine close to home for a First-4 spot. Lucky Nine was handy fifth and one off the rails, straightened three deep and was one-paced over the final 150m. Flagship Shine rolled over from the widest gate to track the even pace of Smart Volatility, briefly hit the front 250m out and was yielding ground over the final 100m. Super Lifeline eased back to travel behind midfield and one off the rails, rounded the final bend five deep and made only a mild bid late with the step up in class. Dundonnell enjoyed the box-seat run and didn't offer much when popped the question. Smart Volatility was stopping 250m out.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (478)-THE QUEEN'S SILVER JUBILEE CUP - Hong Kong Group One - 1400Metres

LUCKY NINE and SUPER LIFELINE were crowded for room at the start between DAN EXCEL and PURE CHAMPION which shifted out.

Shortly after the start, FREDERICK ENGELS got its head up when being steadied to obtain cover.

Near the 1100 Metres, LUCKY NINE was steadied away from the heels of FLAGSHIP SHINE.

SUPER LIFELINE, which was following LUCKY NINE and over-racing, was awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse in consequence.

For some distance between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres, FREDERICK ENGELS raced tight inside SMART VOLATILITY which was giving ground.

Near the 100 Metres, FLAGSHIP SHINE was awkwardly placed inside the heels of DAN EXCEL.

Over the concluding stages, FREDERICK ENGELS was awkwardly placed close to the heels of DAN EXCEL.

Throughout the race, DAN EXCEL travelled wide and without cover.

A veterinary inspection of SMART VOLATILITY and DUNDONNELL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

GOLD-FUN and DAN EXCEL were sent for sampling.
