Recap by phillip woo

Flying Elite settled fore of midfield and one off the rails, moved to third approaching the final bend, rounded the final bend six deep, assumed the front 200m out and kept on gamely for a fifth career win from 10 starts over this Valley trip. Supreme Essence settled just off the eventual winner along the rails, straightened three deep and finished up well for second. Late-fancied favourite Jazzy Feeling settled fourth along the fence, pulled out five wide and ran on steadily to snare a placing. Galaxy Prancer made his run fourth from the rear, swung the final bend with one wider out and ran on reasonably well to collar Smart Ball on the wire for a First-4 position. Smart Ball led early on before handing up to Dragon Glory at the 1,000m, was back to fourth entering the straight, moved to second four deep and was one-paced over the last 100m. Early favourite Spinning Dancer travelled behind midfield and one off the fence, swung the final bend with three wider out and only produced a mild bid. He had no excuses. Flying Unicorn eventually settled third and one off the rails, advance to the front 400m out before struggling 200m out.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (609)-AUSTRALIA HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Metres

VITAL PRINCE proved difficult to load.

Before being allowed to race again, VITAL PRINCE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.

VITAL PRINCE and PEPPERMINT were crowded for room at the start between FLYING UNICORN and FLYING ELITE which shifted out.

In this incident, FLYING UNICORN became unbalanced after being bumped by PEPPERMINT.

A short distance later, FLYING UNICORN and SUPREME ESSENCE made contact and became unbalanced after SUPREME ESSENCE shifted in after being bumped by DRAGON GLORY.

From the outside barrier, STEP FASTER was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.

Passing the 1300 Metres, SPINNING DANCER was steadied away from the heels of SMART BALL (M Chadwick) which shifted in when not properly clear.

M Chadwick was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in future.

Over the concluding stages, C Y Ho (PEPPERMINT) dropped his right rein.

After the race, T Berry (DRAGON GLORY) reported that his mount shortened stride after the 600 Metres and in the Straight gave ground abruptly.

A veterinary inspection of DRAGON GLORY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of SPINNING DANCER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
