Recap by phillip woo

Beauty King was surprisingly unpressured for the lead, cornered a half-length on top from favourite Gun Pit and out-dueled that one get the bob in at the right time for a third win from his past four starts. Gun Pit went forward from a wide gate to sit second and one off the rails, loomed a winning chance at the 200m and lost out in a ding-dong battle. He remains one to follow when next stepping out. It was a ways back to Oyster, who enjoyed the box-seat run and stayed on well to be a clear third. Well-punted Panther Run settled midfield along the rails, angled into the clear with three wider out and ran on steadily to grab a First-4 spot 50m out. Dragon Pins settled behind midfield along the rails, straightened three deep and made a mild bid without menacing. He's better over the 1,800m and wasn't suited by the pace. Perfect Moment settled fourth and one off the rails, straightened four deep and was yielding ground 150m out. Indigo Way settled at the tail of the field, swung the final bend widest out and only stayed on passed beaten rivals. He was another at the mercy of a slow pace.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four: (661)-TAI TAM COUNTRY TRAIL HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Metres

When parading behind the barriers, H W Lai was momentarily dislodged from TRIPLE EXCELLENT without incident.

DRAGON PINS began awkwardly and lost ground and then, despite being ridden along, failed to muster speed.

Shortly after the start, REALLY THE BEST shifted out and bumped BEAUTY KING.

After this, REALLY THE BEST was ridden along, however, failed to muster speed.

Despite being ridden along in the early stages, from a wide barrier, JOY TOGETHER failed to muster speed and for the majority of the race travelled wide and without cover.

From the outside barrier, HEART WOOD was shifted across behind runners in the early stages to obtain a position with cover.

Passing the 150 Metres, BEAUTY KING and GUN PIT bumped due to both horses shifting a minimal amount of ground.

The performance of TRIPLE EXCELLENT, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, TRIPLE EXCELLENT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of REALLY THE BEST immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

BEAUTY KING and GUN PIT were sent for sampling.
