Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Ka Ying Kid settled one off in midfield, rallied five deep upon straightening, quickening to hit the lead 100m out and kept on gamely for a first win at his 18 th start. Divine Diya settled behind midfield and one off the rails, swung the final bend six deep and ran on nicely to take second. Jun Gong was taken back from a wide gate to settle second from the rear, rallied four deep upon straightening and finished willingly to just snare third 50m out ahead of a luckless Mega Champion, who had to duck-and-weave about for a run over the final 250m after making his run third from the rear and deep on the track with cover. Drawing late-market action as usual, Supreme Flight easily cleared to lead from gate 11, led by nearly a length and was stopping 50m out. Best Tango travelled outside Ka Ying Kid in the run with cover out deep, swung the final bend with one further out and ran on steadily without menacing in an improved effort with a tongue-tie. Berlini only held his ground over the final 200m.

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine: (674)-CLEAR WATER BAY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Metres

KA YING KID was crowded for room at the start between DISCIPLES TWELVE which was taken out by PABLOSKY which began very awkwardly and got its head up and GLORIOUS RYDER which shifted in.

Shortly after the start, PLEASANT KNIGHT and DIVINE DIYA bumped.

SUPREME FLIGHT stumbled at the start and shifted out, resulting in JUN GONG being crowded for room inside BEST TANGO.

In this incident, SUPREME FLIGHT lost its left front plate.

After the 1200 Metres, BERLINI proved difficult to settle and near the 1150 Metres was bumped by DISCIPLES TWELVE which shifted out.

Near the 650 Metres, DIVINE DIYA became badly unbalanced when proving very difficult to settle and being checked away from the heels of KA YING KID.

Passing the 300 Metres, BEST TANGO was shifted out away from the heels of BERLINI due to both horses shifting ground.

Approaching the 200 Metres, MEGA CHAMPION, which was closing off the race well, was shifted in abruptly away from the heels of LONGWAH SUPREME which was giving ground.

Over the concluding stages, DIVINE DIYA got its head on the side and shifted in.

Throughout the race, LONGWAH SUPREME travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, J Moreira, the rider of FURIO, reported that his mount made a loud respiratory noise during the race.

A veterinary inspection of FURIO immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea and also found the horse to be a "roarer".

Before being allowed to race again, FURIO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of PLEASANT KNIGHT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of PLEASANT KNIGHT, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, PLEASANT KNIGHT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of BERLINI immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.

KA YING KID and DIVINE DIYA were sent for sampling.
