Recap by phillip woo

Helene Spirit pinged to the front from gate three, cornered a length on top, was briefly headed passing the 200m and fought back to assert his class over the final 100m carrying top weight. Favourite Aerovelocity settled in the box-seat, pulled out four deep upon straightening, poked his head in front approaching the 150m and peaked on his run 100m out with a step up in distance off multiple 1,200m wins. Dundonnell travelled three back along the rails, was held up early straight along the inside, angled three deep at the 200m and stayed on well for a placing. Rewarding Hero travelled behind midfield along the rails, shifted off heels with three wider out at the 300m and ran on reasonably well to finish just out of the placings. Specked late, Tour De Force switched off near the back from a wide gate, cornered five deep and was making some ground late without menacing. Firming late, Secret Sham enjoyed a nice run outside Dundonnell with cover, but didn't have much to offer when popped the question five deep upon straightening. Golden Harvest failed to let down with a step up to the 1,400m.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (691)-THE PRINCE JEWELLERY & WATCH PREMIER CUP (HANDICAP) - Hong Kong Group Three - 1400Metres

SECRET SHAM began awkwardly.

From the outside barrier, TOUR DE FORCE was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

DUNDONNELL had difficulty obtaining clear running for some distance prior to the 300 Metres.

After the 200 Metres, TOUR DE FORCE raced tight between REWARDING HERO and SECRET SHAM which shifted out marginally.

In the Straight, AEROVELOCITY got its head on the side and lay in under pressure.

A veterinary inspection of FREDERICK ENGELS immediately following the race revealed the horse to be lame in its right front leg.

Before being allowed to race again, FREDERICK ENGELS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of SECRET SHAM and GOLDEN HARVEST immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

HELENE SPIRIT and AEROVELOCITY were sent for sampling.
