Recap by phillip woo

Newcomer Comeback Kid travelled fore of midfield and one off the rails, straightened two-to-three deep and kept coming with every stride to run down favourite I'm In Charge in the final few metres for the win. He appears to have a bright future in Hong Kong. I'm In Charge was up with the leaders, assumed the front from Gamekeepers rounding the final bend, opened up two lengths at the 300m and found one too good in the end in his first run on the dirt. Rumba King was posted deep in midfield from a wide alley, swung the final bend with one wider out, moved to second at the 250m and just held off Danewin Tiger for a placing when peaking on his run 100m out. Danewin Tiger swung the final bend with two wider out and was getting going late to come out a clear-cut fourth. Green Easy loomed a place chance four deep at the 250m and was one-paced over the final 100m. Oriental Prosper had trouble staying in touch second from the rear, pushed widest out upon straightening and was doing some nice work late without menacing. All Win Boy was shuffled back to only have a couple behind him at the 700m, improved to midfield coming to the final bend and only held his ground in the straight run. Second favourite Hello Kimberley was was shuffled back when trying to avoid the stopping Little Dragon at the 600m and was never a factor thereafter.

COMEBACK KID began awkwardly, shifted out at the start and made contact with GREEN EASY which became unbalanced.
