Recap by phillip woo

Late-fancied favourite Gun Pit went forward from a wide gate to track the speed one off in third, roared to the front three deep at the 200m and edged clear to score a second win from six starts off a light weight with a step up in grade. He's got a bright future. Harbour Master made his run fore of midfield and one off the rails, moved to a second at the 200m and kept on well to be a clear second. Early favourite Supreme Essence had no excuses following a prominent run along the rails and just held off outsider Imperial Concorde for a placing. Imperial Concorde made his run fourth from the rear along the paint, angled out for clear running five deep upon straightening and ran on nicely in a much-improved performance with a switch to the dirt. Danewin Express travelled just worse than midfield along the rails, straightened four deep and ran on steadily without menacing. Mr Medici was posted deep without cover behind midfield, swung the final bend six deep and only held his ground over the final 200m under the left whip.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (701)-CHAMOMILE HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Metres

On arrival at the Start, D Whyte, the rider of AMAZINGLY, expressed concern regarding the action of the horse.

AMAZINGLY was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was lame in its right hind leg and accordingly was not suitable to race.

Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of AMAZINGLY.

Before being allowed to race again, AMAZINGLY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

From the outside barrier, BEST SHOW was taken across behind runners in the early stages.

Passing the winning post on the first occasion, HARBOUR DELIGHT blundered after racing close to the heels of EXPEDITE for some distance.

Also passing the winning post on the first occasion, EXPEDITE was steadied and shifted in to a position with cover after racing wide.

Passing the 1400 Metres, HARBOUR DELIGHT got its head on the side and shifted out and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MR MEDICI.

In the early stages, ALL FRIENDS was left racing wide and without cover and after the 1200 Metres was allow to improve its position into the lead.

After the 1200 Metres, Apprentice C Y Lui (NUMERO UNO) adjusted his left foot in the stirrup iron.

After the 1100 Metres, MR MEDICI was racing wide and without cover.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of NUMERO UNO, Apprentice C Y Lui stated that the horse, which was having its first race start on the All Weather surface, came off the bridle prior to the 600 Metres and then was disappointing in the manner in which it weakened out of the race in the Straight.

Trainer T P Yung reported that it is his intention not to start NUMERO UNO again this season.

A veterinary inspection of NUMERO UNO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

GUN PIT and HARBOUR MASTER were sent for sampling.
