Recap by phillip woo

Odds-on favourite Righteous rolled forward from an awkward gate to sit outside the leader Sir John, responded nicely when only popped the question passing the 400m to lead 200m out and edged clear to remain unbeaten in two outings . Jade Pippo enjoyed a soft run along the rails in fourth, moved to second approaching the 200m and just staved off Lucky Day for the runner-up spot. Lucky Day travelled behind midfield along the paint, angled out four deep at the 350m and was doing his best work over the final 100m to make it a bob of heads for the Quinella spot. Golden Gunners travelled third from the rear and four deep from a wide gate after jumping from the widest gate, swung the final bend widest out and loomed a chance until peaking on his run 50m out. Sir John led narrowly along the rails, cornered a half-length on top and was giving ground 250m out. Our Honour settled fourth from the back and one off the rails, straightened three deep and made some ground without menacing. Hayhay was effectively one-out, one-back in the run, rallied five deep upon straightening and was one-paced over the final 250m when asked for a response.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (723)-BEAS RIVER COUNTRY CLUB HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Metres

MY SURPLUS began only fairly.

From the outside barriers, MEDIC SWORDSMAN and GOLDEN GUNNERS were taken across behind runners in the early stages.

Near the 1100 Metres, LUCKY DAY momentarily raced tight between SUPER PLUS and HAYHAY which shifted out.

Approaching the first turn near the 900 Metres, MY SURPLUS got its head up when proving difficult to settle and awkwardly placed close to the heels of LUCKY DAY.

Making the first turn at the 900 Metres, MEDIC SWORDSMAN was awkwardly placed close to the heels of OUR HONOUR.

Approaching the 700 Metres, GOLDEN GUNNERS and MEDIC SWORDSMAN bumped as MEDIC SWORDSMAN shifted out when awkwardly placed behind OUR HONOUR.

After the 700 Metres, MY SURPLUS, which was laying out, was steadied away from the heels of OUR HONOUR.

For some distance after the 600 Metres, SUPER PLUS proved difficult to settle and got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of HAYHAY.

Near the 550 Metres, MEDIC SWORDSMAN was steadied away from the heels of SEA SMOKE.

Over the final 200 Metres, GOLDEN GUNNERS hung in under pressure, resulting in its rider, Apprentice C Y Lui, having to stop riding and straighten on a number of occasions.

Throughout the race, GO-GETTER travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground.

A veterinary inspection of GO-GETTER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of GO-GETTER, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, GO-GETTER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

RIGHTEOUS and JADE PIPPO were sent for sampling.
