Recap by phillip woo

Smart Forward enjoyed the box-seat run, angled three deep at the 250m and wore down the favourite Domineer passing the 50m for the win. Domineer was pestered on the lead by Dining Star, turned the final bend a length clear and found one too good in the end. Choice Treasure settled second from the rear, rounded the final bend six deep and ran on nicely to finish a distant third. Brave Brother couldn't hold a placing after working to third at the 100m following a deep run with cover in midfield. All Great Friends kept on all right after a deep run without cover in fourth. He's naturally acclimatising with racing. Hearts Keeper travelled worse than midfield, lost some ground and momentum when checked at the 800m, swung the final bend with three wider out and was running on without menacing.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (767)-ENTRAPMENT HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Metres

FUN TAPESTRY and SUGAR began awkwardly.

Shortly after the start, HEROIC GURU raced tight between CHOICE TREASURE and HEARTS KEEPER which shifted out.

From a wide barrier, POLYMER WIN was shifted across behind runners shortly after the start.

Passing the 900 Metres, BRAVE BROTHER was steadied when crowded for room between ALL GREAT FRIENDS and CLEVER BEAVER which got its head on the side and shifted out marginally towards the heels of WINNING KING.

HEARTS KEEPER, which was following CLEVER BEAVER, improved to be racing inside that horse where there was insufficient room, resulting in HEARTS KEEPER having to be checked passing the 800 Metres.

CLEVER BEAVER lost its right hind plate passing the 800 Metres.

After the 800 Metres, ALL GREAT FRIENDS was left racing wide and without cover.

Passing the 650 Metres, HEARTS KEEPER, which was racing keenly, shifted out away from the heels of CLEVER BEAVER, resulting in NEW DEERFIELD being crowded for room when taken out onto SUGAR which became unbalanced after being bumped by NEW DEERFIELD.

DOMINEER hung in under pressure in the Straight, resulting in its rider, Z Purton, changing his whip over into his right hand near the 200 Metres.

A veterinary inspection of NEW DEERFIELD and SUGAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of CLEVER BEAVER immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.

Before being allowed to race again, CLEVER BEAVER will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

SMART FORWARD and DOMINEER were sent for sampling.
