Fijian star Samisoni Viriviri signs with French Top 14 club
Last year’s top try scorer in the Sevens World Series to join Montpellier in June

Fijian star Samisoni Viriviri said on Wednesday that he had signed with French club Montpellier and would switch to the Top 14 side in June.
Viriviri, the joint top try scorer last year’s world rugby sevens series, said he felt the time was right to take the next step in his career after previously rejecting offers from French clubs.
“I have signed with Montpellier a few days ago and I will join my new club in France in June after the world sevens series,” he said.
“I was previously approached by French clubs, but declined as I wanted to play sevens a bit longer, but I’m ready for a contract now.”
Viriviri plays at fullback for his Fijian club Nadroga, but said he would be on the wing at Montpellier, a position he prefers.
The player, who hails from the province of Nadi, was one of the key players for the Fiji team who won last year's Hong Kong Sevens and was named the best and fairest player.
