HK Scottish rugby player Jo Tuisoso goes viral with ‘wifey squats’ and home workouts during lockdown
- The Fijian expat has been showcasing his innovative home workouts on his social media to rave reviews
- The 28-year-old also works as a bodyguard and personal trainer, and says early morning workouts with the family are key

Jo Tuisoso likes to start each morning with his family, using them as weights that is.
The Fijian, who has lived in Hong Kong for more than five years, is adapting well to the lockdown measures and social distancing rules in place in the city.
“I work out every morning,” said the 28-year-old who plays wing for HK Scottish. “I start off and I use my daughter on my back to do push-ups, so I do 35 for four sets. And then I do one-minute planks, for four sets, with her on my back.”
Tuisoso said his three-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Cassidy Jade, weighs about 15 kilograms, which is perfect for a rugby player like himself. With weights not readily available in many people’s homes, the 96-kilogram Tuisoso, who also works as a bodyguard for a security company and does some personal training sessions (UrbanFitness852 on Facebook), said adapting to these tough times is key.

“Then my daughter and I will do crunches, she will sit on my feet as well to help,” he said.
