Hong Kong’s sevens players went back to school on Wednesday as part of the “Support Hong Kong Team T-shirt Design Competition” – an HKRFU initiative which aims to engage the local community ahead of the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens in March.

At each stop Sevens mascot Wai Bei joined the sessions and local artist Ah Tat gave the students tips on creativity, while the players explained the rules of the game and demonstrated some ball-passing techniques.
The students at Ho Dao College in particular were excited when Yiu explained they could win tickets to the Sevens by taking part in the HSBC-sponsored contest, which is open to all primary and secondary students and will end next Friday (January 30).
One primary and one secondary school student will see their winning designs printed on T-shirts which they will then present to the players at the Hong Kong team announcement ceremony on March 20.
In addition, if the winners fall into the 8-to-12 age category, they will also have the chance to be a ball carrier at the Sevens.
