South Africa have surged to victory at the Paris Sevens and snatched the HSBC World Sevens Series crown from a faltering Fiji in the process in an action-packed final weekend of the season.

Trailing by seven points entering the tournament, the Blitzboks needed everything to go in their favour if they were to take back-to-back titles and it did, with Fiji falling to England 19-17 in the quarter-finals before South Africa took down the English 24-14 in the final.
