The winger runs rings around her opponents, then thanks her forwards for making it all possible

She’s a star of the New Zealand sevens team and Black Ferns’ speedster Portia Woodman ran rings around Hong Kong on Sunday, scoring eight tries in her side’s 121-0 win at the Women’s Rugby World Cup.

Pleased with the win, the humble winger was quick to thank her teammates for making her incredible haul possible.

“It’s all down to the forwards, they do all the hard yakka and it makes it easy for the outsides to cross the line,” she said.

Hong Kong had no answers for Woodman and the skill and pace of New Zealand, conceding 19 tries in total.

“When someone like Portia Woodman’s got her hands on the ball then she is going to score,” Hong Kong coach Jo Hull said. “She’s a great player, she’s a world-class athlete and fair play to her.”
