Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal named Manchester United’s new manager
Ryan Giggs confirmed as his assistant to rebuild Red Devils

Dutchman Louis van Gaal has been named as Manchester United’s new manager with Ryan Giggs confirmed as his assistant, the Premier League club said on Monday.
Former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach Van Gaal, who will lead Netherlands at the World Cup next month, has agreed to a three-year contract, United said in a statement.
Giggs, the club’s record appearance maker, took charge of United’s final four Premier League of the season following the sacking of David Moyes.
Van Gaal, 62, won two La Liga titles while in charge of Barcelona and also took Bayern Munich to the Bundesliga crown.
Van Gaal is a man who rarely goes unnoticed and he should feel right at home attempting to following in the massive footsteps of Manchester United club legend Alex Ferguson.
Emotional during victories and resembling a red-hot volcano ready to explode after defeats, the 62-year-old, who was named United manager on Monday, thrives in the spotlight.
“I am a party animal,” he shouted into the crowd on Munich’s central square after Bayern clinched a league and German Cup double in 2010 and faced Inter Milan in the Champions League final they went on to lose.
