Transfer of David Luiz from Chelsea to PSG finalised
Meanwhile, Bacary Sagna will join Manchester City from Arsenal after World Cup
Paris Saint-Germain have finalised the transfer of David Luiz from Chelsea, with the Brazil international signing a five-year deal with the French champions.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed but it will reportedly make Luiz the world’s most expensive defender.
Chelsea and PSG both announced the deal last month but the move could not be completed until the opening of the transfer window on June 10.
British media reported that the transfer fee would reach between £40 million ($HK521 million) and £50 million, which would be a record for a defender.
Of course I wanna thank the coach Mr Wenger, who believed in me, gave me trust and clearly changed my life
Meanwhile, France right-back Bacary Sagna will join Manchester City next season after agreeing a three-year contract, the English champions announced on Friday.
Sagna, who made his final appearance for Arsenal in FA Cup final victory over Hull City last month, will complete his move after the World Cup.
The 31-year-old made 284 appearances for Arsenal, and tweeted: "Of course I wanna thank the coach Mr Wenger, who believed in me, gave me trust and clearly changed my life."
He described Arsenal as "A family to me... a club who taught me so much in seven years. A club who changed the kid I was into the man I am today."
