Sergio Aguero fired a four-goal salvo as Manchester City thrashed 10-man Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 in a remarkable Premier League clash featuring four penalties at Eastlands yesterday. Aguero was the headline act in a memorable encounter as Manuel Pellegrini's second-placed team kept up the pace on Chelsea.

Mourinho's men maintained their five-point lead at the top with a 2-1 win at Crystal Palace.

In a dramatic first half, both teams were reduced to 10 men after Oscar opened the scoring for Chelsea.

Referee Craig Pawson dismissed Chelsea full back Cesar Azpilicueta for a two-footed challenge on Mile Jedinak and within a minute he gave Palace defender Damien Delaney his second booking.

Cesc Fabregas added the second in the 51st before Frazier Campbell netted a 90th minute consolation.

Argentina forward Aguero opened the scoring for City in the 13th minute and then struck from the penalty spot seven minutes later after Christian Eriksen's 15th-minute equaliser.

He missed a chance to seal his hat-trick before half-time when his second penalty was saved by Hugo Lloris.
