How can Fifa possibly be redeemed? Surely we should scrap it and start again?

I believe in a positive future for Fifa and world football. Details about how this positive future can be achieved are published in my manifesto, which I just published. There you will find the detailed plans I have for a renewed Fifa based on significant governance reforms, better democracy and participation by Fifa’s Member Associations and a renewed focus on strengthening football development projects with greater investment, at every level, worldwide. The challenges Fifa faces are huge, but I believe that I have the right experience, vision and determination to drive the changes that are necessary.

How do you answer accusations that you will be little more than a puppet for the now suspended Uefa chief Michel Platini?

As you can see in my manifesto, I am proposing my own ideas and plans about how to improve Fifa and ensure that serving football is the core mission of the organisation. In developing my proposals, I have consulted many football leaders and stakeholders in the game, specially Member Associations across the world which I visited in person, including the Chinese Football Association, but that is my manifesto and if I am elected I will follow it with full determination.

My focus is clear – it is a priority to bring football back to the centre of Fifa. To do this, it is imperative that Fifa embraces reforms to ensure it becomes a modern and credible world governing body. My proposals to take Fifa forward also include initiatives regarding growing the Fifa World Cup, studying the use of technology and improving the transfer system.
