May date for Carlos Tevez against Oscar as Chinese Super League unveils 2017 fixtures
Officials reveal schedule for 16-team top-flight with new campaign beginning on March 3 and running through until November 4
Fans will have to wait until the end of May to see Carlos Tevez’s Shanghai Shenhua face Oscar’s Shanghai SIPG after the Chinese Super league announced the 2017 fixtures on Thursday.
Shenhua will make the trip across Shanghai to SIPG’s Shanghai Stadium on May 20 in the 10th round of the season.
After Tevez lost on his first competitive outing for Shenhua in their AFC Champions League play-off against Australia’s Brisbane Roar on Wednesday, the Argentinian will make his Super League debut at home to Jiangsu Suning who have Brazilians Ramires and Alex Teixeira in their squad on March 5.
The new season begins two days earlier as Chongqing Dangdai Lifan entertain Yanbian Funde, while Guangzhou Evergrande begin the defence of their title also on March 5 at home to Beijing Guoan.
Oscar, having enjoyed a successful competitive debut as SIPG secured their place in the group stage of the AFC Champions League with a win over Thailand’s Sukhothai, gets his first taste of Super League action against Changchun Yatai on March 5.
The 2017 season of the 16-team Super League concludes on November 4.
