Argentinian striker Carlos Tevez has so far done little to justify his US$800,0000-a-week salary with Shanghai Shenhua, and created further distance between himself and the club’s fans after missing Saturday’s much-needed win over Changchun Yatai due to injury only to be spotted in Disneyland.

Colombian midfielder Giovanni Moreno scored the winner with two minutes remaining at Development Area Stadium in Changchun as Gus Poyet’s side recorded only a second win of the new season.

But with Tevez having scored just once in his first four games in China following his high-profile switch from Boca Juniors, Shenhua’s fans were more concerned with the fact Tevez opted to visit the Shanghai tourist attraction having not made the trip to Changchun due to injury.

The 33-year-old is reported to be living with living with a large group of family and friends, including the mother of his three children, Vanesa Mansilla, who he married in December.

“Shenhua hasn’t won here for 10 years and there are many reasons, but after this game all of us should feel very happy. This win is very important for us as we will play our fourth consecutive away game next week,” said Uruguayan coach Poyet.

“[Tevez’s absence] was a coincidence. I don’t want to appraise the condition of the pitch. Even if Tevez was here, he might have felt very uncomfortable. It was a coincidence that we won here.”

After Shenhua had picked up just four points from their first four games of the season and also lost in the AFC Champions League play-offs, struggling Changchun presented the ideal opportunity for Poyet’s side, and the visitors made the ideal start as Colombian Fredy Guarin struck after just 18 minutes.

But the home side, who are still searching for a first win of the season, turned the tie around as Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo struck either side of half-time.

Shenhua, though, puled level after 52 minutes through Cao Yunding before Moreno netted his fifth goal in as many games.
