Alexis Sanchez set for Arsenal January departure as Gunners line up Brazilian replacement – report

The report claims the North London side are prepared to listen to bids between £25-£35 million with the Chilean approaching the end of his contact

Alexis Sanchez looks set to bring an end to his Arsenal career this month with Arsene Wenger’s side already lining up a replacement for the mercurial forward, according to a report on the BBC website.

The report claimed that the North London side are prepared to listen to bids between £25-£35 million (HK$265 million) with the Chilean approaching the end of his contact this summer.

Wenger previously indicated that he was hopeful of retaining the former Barcelona man as recently as this week following the League Cup draw with Chelsea. But the Premier League club’s hierarchy appear to have accepted that the 29-year-old has no intention of remaining at the Emirates and are looking to maximise their return before they potentially lose him for nothing in the summer.

Manchester City remain favourites to swoop for Sanchez, but recent reports claimed Manchester United were emerging as rivals for his signature.

Twenty-year-old Bordeaux striker Malcolm tops Arsenal’s wanted list to fill the void.

The Brazilian has scored seven goals in 18 Ligue 1 appearances so far this season and is valued at around €17 million (HK$160.2 million).
