Roger Federer will play for Switzerland in the Davis Cup final against France in Lille starting today.
There had been concerns in the Swiss camp that he would be unable to compete after injuring his back playing in London last weekend.
But the draw announced yesterday afternoon sees him go up against Gael Monfils in the second of the opening two singles rubbers.
Federer's inclusion in the draw did not surprise the French.
"It is not a surprise for us, we prepared ourselves to play against Roger and Stan [Wawrinka]," France captain Arnaud Clement said after the draw ceremony.

"He's had three days to rest and before that he played his best tennis [in London], it's all good for him," said Monfils, who lost to Federer in five sets in the US Open quarter-finals in September and has never beaten him in five matches on clay.
Switzerland's world number four Wawrinka will open proceedings against French number one Jo-Wilfried Tsonga today in what is expected to be a close battle. "We always play close matches, determination will be the key," said Tsonga, who has a 3-2 record against Wawrinka.
The doubles tomorrow opposes Julien Benneteau and Richard Gasquet of France against the Swiss pairing of Marco Chiudinelli and Michael Lammer.
Sunday's reverse singles will start with Tsonga against Federer to be followed by Monfils versus Wawrinka.
Federer was unable to train at the indoor clay court in Lille, which is hosting this year's final, on Monday and Tuesday.

But he had a short practice session on Wednesday evening and did so again yesterday morning just before the draw was made.
The 17-time major title winner has never before appeared in a Davis Cup final and he has made winning the trophy for Switzerland for the first time a priority.
The Swiss have never won the Davis Cup in its long history, while France have won the team trophy nine times, the last coming away to Australia in 2001.
Federer is ranked second in the world, while this year's Australian Open champion Wawrinka is ranked fourth.
Logically they are the hot favourites - but a dramatic weekend in London at the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals has changed the picture.
That was owing to a remarkable semi-final that pitted the two Swiss players against each other and which Federer won after saving four match points in a gruelling blockbuster that lasted just short of three hours.
The duel left both players bruised and battered.
Wawrinka was distraught at letting slip such a golden opportunity to better, for once, his more illustrious countryman.
