Andy Murray set to return to Australian Open in 2020, a year after emotional farewell
- The Scot has slipped to No 289 in the world rankings
- Murray has reached the final of the Australian Open five times

The three-time grand slam-winning Briton has been slowly working his way back to fitness and is now ranked 289th, up from 503rd just a week ago.
After an injury-ravaged couple of seasons, the Scot appeared to announce his retirement from top level tennis ahead of his elimination from the Australian Open back in January.
Murray got emotional as he watched a pre-packaged tribute to his career after he was eliminated by 22nd seed Roberto Bautista Agut in a four-hour, five-set clash in Melbourne.
However, in his post-match interview, he said he was considering a second hip surgery, and had not yet ruled out a return after recovering from the operation.
Murray, 32, won his opening match at the Shanghai Masters on Monday, beating Argentine qualifier Juan Ignacio Londero in three sets.
