Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios has expressed his fury at fellow ATP Tour player Alexander Zverev after the German was pictured partying despite apparently self-isolating following the controversial Adria Tour.

“How selfish can you be?” 25-year-old Kyrgios asked in an impassioned Instagram Live video on Monday morning, following footage of Zverev partying in Monaco over the weekend.

Zverev was one of a number of a players to join Novak Djokovic’s exhibition played across the Balkans earlier this month, several of whom later tested positive for coronavirus.

While Zverev announced he had tested negative for Covid-19, he had been in close contact with Djokovic, Grigor Dimitrov, Borna Coric and Viktor Troicki, who all tested positive. Djokovic’s coach Goran Ivansevic announced on Friday that he had also tested positive.

Videos had shown the German partying in a Belgrade nightclub with his fellow players and he expressed contrition following the positive tests, announcing that he would self-isolate.

“I deeply apologise to anyone that I have potentially put at risk by playing this tour,” Zverev said.
