British teen tennis sensation Emma Raducanu can add another honour to her fast growing reputation after being named the Oppo Wimbledon Breakthrough Award winner.

The 18-year-old reached the fourth round at the All England Club last week after entering the tournament, her first grand slam, as a wild card.
Raducanu, who was born in Canada to a Romanian father and Chinese mother before moving to London as a child, became the youngest British woman to make the women’s singles fourth round in the Open era.

The world No 179, up from a career high No 333 pre-Wimbledon, marked the announcement on Twitter.

“An honour, thank you,” she wrote. “Can’t wait to come back next year.”
