Britain’s Emma Raducanu moved into the last-16 of the US Open with an explosive win against Spain’s Sara Sorribes Tormo at Flushing Meadows.

The 18-year-old continued her fine run at her maiden oversees grand slam with an extraordinary 6-0, 6-1 win against the world No 41 from Spain.

Raducanu will now face America’s Shelby Rogers, who stunned world number one Ashleigh Barty on Saturday, on Monday.

“My game is just getting better with each match,” Raducanu said. “I was playing very well and I know Sara is a tough opponent so I had to be on my game and worked so hard.

“I’m happy I maintained and stayed consistent.”
