Asia’s first Rafa Nadal Academy is coming to Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong Golf & Tennis Academy in Sai Kung has announced the launch of Rafa Nadal Tennis Center, backed by men’s tennis great Rafael Nadal, and HKGTA parent company New World Development.

Opening from July 1, the Rafa Nadal Tennis Center will provide seven outdoor tennis courts, one indoor court, and two mini courts.

“We are very excited about this new international project in Hong Kong,” 21-time grand slam champion Rafa Nadal said in a statement.

“Since the opening of the Academy in Mallorca five years ago, we have always found it very interesting to expand our methodology to more countries to reach as many people as possible.

The Rafa Nadal may be familiar to Hong Kong tennis fans watching the career of 17-year-old rookie Coleman Wong, who captured the Australian Open boys’ doubles title in January.
