Alibaba launches cloud computing course at the University of Hong Kong Business School to train local talent
- Undergraduate students at the University of Hong Kong will be able to take Alibaba Cloud’s credit course starting September
- Alibaba Cloud, which is directly managed by group CEO Daniel Zhang Yong, is seen as one of Alibaba’s key engines for growth

The course, titled “Cloud Computing: Essential and Application in Entrepreneurship”, will enable students “to experience real-life scenarios involving cloud technology”. The partnership underscores Alibaba Cloud’s commitment to empowering digital talent development in Hong Kong, according to the company’s press release on Tuesday.
Alibaba Cloud said it is the first enterprise partner of HKU Business School to take part in the design and teaching of a credit course. Under the collaboration, participating students will receive a range of benefits, such as free registration for the qualifying exam to become an “Alibaba Cloud Certified Associate”.
Other perks include access to more than 300 cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence online courses under the Alibaba Cloud Academic Empowerment Programme, and first-hand experiences on how cloud computing works.
