China emerged as one of the best-performing markets for Apple in the three months to June when its sales there grew 8 per cent from a year earlier, as the US technology giant posted its third consecutive quarterly decline in global revenue.
Apple’s Greater China region – covering the mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau – contributed US$15.8 billion to its total net sales of US$81.8 billion in the June quarter, the Cupertino, California-based company said on Thursday.
“In China, we had an acceleration,” Apple chief executive Tim Cook said on Thursday in a conference call with analysts.
