Donald John Trump, born June 14, 1946, became the 45th President of the United States in 2017, after he defeated Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in the general election of 2016. He was preceded by Barack Obama, who was in office for two terms between January 20, 2009 and January 20, 2017. He was succeeded by Joe Biden, who became 46th President of the United States on January 20, 2021.
